Welcome to the ArtsCan Blog!
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Sarah Power. I have been involved with ArtsCan for just shy of two years. I’m now the secretary on the board of directors and I‘ve become the curator of this blog.
A little bit about me… I am a graphic designer by trade with more than 10 years of experience in the field, five of those in the print industry. I have recently gone freelance and I specialize in print design and branding for small business. I am a visual artist as well. I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember — as my mother likes to tell people, “Sarah’s been drawing since she could hold a pencil in her hand.” My visual arts focus these days has been ink and watercolour paintings as well as soft pastel drawings.
I may be an established creative professional but I often feel very “green” being surrounded by the talent and wealth of experience represented on the ArtsCan board of directors. It is truly an honour to be on the ground floor of such a wonderful endeavour with this amazing group of people.
I am excited to be bringing you blog posts that will hopefully educate, inspire and motivate you! I personally plan to write articles drawing from my accumulated knowledge of graphic design, as well as inspirations from the visual arts community.
